So my girlfriend thought of buying me a different gift for my birthday this time round, so she pre-ordered Watch Dogs for me... in September!! Yeah, I understand that the game's release had to be postponed to make sure that the game is ready to be released.
But...
The game was pre-ordered on Steam, a service I had never had any problems with before. Once the game was officially released, I tried playing. All I got was a big NOPE. The simply does not launch, Steam says 'Preparing to launch', (pausing all downloads if there are any) and then nothing happens (downloads continue at this point). If I try to start the game from the crap launcher Ubisoft created to compete with Steam, Uplay, all it does is ask Steam to launch the game, and we already know what happens there.
I tried everything, re-install the game, re-install Steam, re-install Uplay, disable startup processes (suggestion on Ubisoft's twitter), pc restart, graphics driver update; nothing. I even tried contacting Steam and Ubisoft customer support, no reply yet. I have now resorted to tweeting at the official Watch Dogs to (maybe) get their attention, nothing yet...
So, long story short, the dogs aren't watching anything.
