Florence Holiday - Part 3

Waking up to our third morning in Florence, first thing I noticed when we got out was this little gem hidden among a plain brick wall, the emblem of the Knights of Malta, my home country.

The outing of the day was a tour around the Uffizzi Gallery to take a look at some of the finest pieces of art one could find.

After the tour, we needed to get something in our stomachs to sustain us for the journey ahead; glorious Italian Pizza!

The journey ahead was, of course, climbing the bell tower of the Duomo. A hell of a climb, but the view from the top makes every one of those four hundred or so steps worth it.

After some cold ice cream, we decided to visit the Capelle Medicee, the Medici Chapels, filled with artistic masterpieces, bone collections of saints and magnificent coffins.

Finishing the day with a quiet walk over Ponte Vecchio, which looks totally different at night, we head back home to have some rest.
