After touring Pisa in the afternoon, we took a train to Florence to find our apartment and settle down for a bit. After finding the place, acquiring the keys and taking a look, we went to buy some groceries from around the corner, cooked some pasta and toured the neighborhood by night for the fun of it. First thing in the morning, Palazzo Pitti; an amazing tour through history thanks to the Medici family.
The following two pictures are the only ones I could get without a guard snooping around.
After finishing the tour through the palace, we went out the back door to the Medici family private garden, the Boboli Gardens. An amazing maze of hedges, trees, flowers; just amazing.

| Of course, a mandatory photo for the albums. |
| Oh, and we found the whomping willow... No, it's not in the UK. Palazzo Pitti IS Hogwarts. |
| The views from these gardens are just amazing. No wonder these nobles did all they could to keep expanding their territory. |
| Feast your eyes on the first real meal in Florence; the 'Imperial Beef Burger'. |
Art is definitely not lacking here, oh and they seem to really like David...
| Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... our apartment was about five minutes away from the awesome Ponte Vecchio. |
| Climbing up God knows how many steps to the highest area in town to check out the Florentine sunset? Worth it. |
| Any time of the day, the Arno river is always a magnificent sight. |
| We decided to finish off the day with a platter from this awesome place ("Free wine today!!! This is yesterdays's sign" on the sign) and then check out what there is to see around Piazza della Republica (Republic Square). Quite the atmosphere. |
